Our next port in New Zealand was Tauranga. Nice little town with a great harbor. Flowers everywhere. Pat, Joan and I stopped for some munchies and a beer at a local pub. My jeans still fit so I am ok for munchies.
I did learn today that kiwi birds are the only birds that have external nostrils on their bills. Also that the world’s first female population to win the vote was in New Zealand. Both would make good trivia questions.
Not far from Tauranga are geysers and pools of therapeutic mud but I decided I didn’t want to wallow in the mud and I spent the day in Tauranga instead.
I think the mud is only therapeutic for getting rid of unwanted bodies as it is boiling!! It also stinks to high heaven, which I never got used to over the two days I was there. The steam baths were nice though and there was a great bob sled type of ride which was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were adverturesum? You missed out on an all natural mud bath. Tisk tisk. LOL. Glad your clothes are still fitting. Either you're not eating enough or they are really working you on the boat? New Zealand looks like so much fun. I didn't realize how much there was to it in comparison to it's Southern counterpart. Loving the pictures.
