Our last formal was the mutiny on the bounty formal which was a pirate theme. Correct me if I’m wrong but the Bounty had nothing to do with pirates. There was the mutiny and eventually Christian and his followers (together with their Polynesian wives) had to flee to Pitcairn Island after Captain Bligh and the authorities were going to prosecute them for their mutiny. Even though historically it wasn’t correct we had a good time anyway.

In addition to the festivities of the evening we celebrated Maryanne’s birthday . The man next to her is Bill.

  1. What was your planned outfit for this evening? We didn't get to see a picture of you. Looks like lots of fun (even if it wasn't historically correct).

  2. Thanks for posting a photo of MaryAnne and Bill. I have been following her blog, so it is good to know what both she and Bill look like. I know Don is following the same blog. You were correct with the history of the Bounty Mutiny. It happened to Captain Bligh again when he was the Govenor of The Australian Colonies. The soldiers and important landed gentry mutinied (in a different way) against him. I think he was somewhat of a bully and therefore not a popular man!

  3. So glad all goes well! Wonderful photos and good to have one of Bill & Mary Ann, whose blog I enjoy, too. Looks like Hillary Clinton dancing with one of the pirates! Is the dinner seating on a World Cruise an established table for 2 to 8 people at early or late seatings? I hear that "As you Wish" --- open seating --- is not on a World Cruise but am not sure.
