It always seems to happen---I got a little bug (not the bad nora (sp?) virus) that kept me quiet and sleeping more than usual. Such a waste of time but I am now ready to go go go. Good thing it happened on sea days.

Our next port is Mali which has a Muslim government so that should be interesting. We have been given a strict clothing code for the city. No shorts, no sleeveless or short sleeve shirts or tops, lomg skirts or loose pants and a scarf to cover our heads and shoulders, I also will not be able to get my beer as no alcohol is sold here. Now these rules do not apply to the resort areas of the islands. This was not a port of call but became one because of the pirate activities around the Seychelles. From here we go to India, then the orient, then to Russia, Canada and home.

Now let me remember what has been happening these last few days during the time at sea. I have on occasion played some bingo and this is a photo of my Bingo Buddies, Jerry and Jenny. They have told their daughter about my blog and she may find it interesting enough to follow. Jerry and Jenny also play trivia but they are on an enemy team.

We did have our Tropical formal and even though I looked stunning in my black with blue tropical flowers with white and green accents and sparkling beads here and there, I didn’t feel that good as it is the night I came down with and went to bed with my “bug”. As usual the place was decorated beautifully and the costumes were very interesting.

I did join a team for the scavenger hunt and with a little creative thinking our team won. One of the items was a bow tie. The only man on the team didn’t have one so we made one out of toilet paper. When they wanted pink nail polish and we had red only, I took off my shoe and sock and showed them my toe nails painted pink. No team came up with the 1979 coin but our team did have two more items than any other team.

  1. I hope you are now feeling 100% and that you pass muster under wraps in Mali. Make sure you get someone to take photographs! I can't wait to see those beady eyes between the slits. Take mouthwash and two mini-bottles just in case. I love to give unsolicited advice! Don.

  2. Judi, I am posting again as I am totally surprised your correspondents have abandoned you at this time in the Indian Ocean. We all love you and are enchanted with your posts! Keep up the good work. It is Sunday morning here in SC. Don.
